Life is about continually moving forward. DRIVE Magazine explores the elements that keep our feet on the accelerator(drive), and help us keep going despite the heartaches and the difficulties in life.
The magazine consists of FaceTime interviews with people I admire deeply, photos taken with my digital camera, 60 survey answers relating to their close friends, and conversations about the value of companionship.

More about the Design Process

Before I started this project there were two conditions.

One, it had to be something close to my heart so I can enjoy the process, and two, it had to be something that I can only talk about during this specific period of my life. Hence, friendship became the theme.

I opened with a heartfelt letter dedicating this magazine to all my friends who have reminded me that I am more than enough.

Survey on friendship
Survey answers made into a list and heart-warming letter-like format

Photo Essay
Photos of my friends hanging out captured with a camera made in the 2000s. A digital camera was used to capture the rare yet spontaneous moments and relying on its ability to create “happy accidents”.

Facetime Interview
Three amazing and kind people talking about fading friendships, childhood friends, and moments that you wish lasted forever.

“Another morning comes. It always does.
Time always moves at the same rate, only feelings have different speeds. Every day can mark a whole lifetime or a single heartbeat, depending on who you spend it with.”
